I’m a Volunteer/Applicant—What Can I Expect?

1. Complete the necessary paperwork. The church organization will provide you with the background check release forms. The forms can be completed by physically filling them out and returning them to the church organization or the forms can be completed electronically.

2. You may receive a phone call from True Hire (our parent company), asking you to verify information that you provided in the background release, including, but not limited to the following:

  a. Social security number

  b. Spelling of your name

  c. Date of birth

  d. Driver’s license number

  e. Request for additional references

3. Your background check results will be sent to the church organization. In the event your application is disqualified due to the results of your background check, you will receive an adverse action letter in the mail. If you feel the results of the background check are inaccurate, you have the option to file a dispute. For more information on the dispute process, click here.
